Instant Karma, LLC was founded in 2008 by Orange You Glad, Inc. and Anish and M.K.Tandon. The Tandon family has been in the export business in India since the 1970’s.

Orange You Glad, Inc. was launched in 1991 by Steven and Marsha Amon as an apparel marketing and design company.

In 1994, Orange You Glad, Inc. purchased the the brand name Johnny Cotton.

In 1983, Anish India Exports was created in order to focus on apparel manufacturing.

In 1996, Steve, Marsha and Anish first met at the loft studio of Orange You Glad, Inc. in New York. Steve had volunteered to host a forum of India apparel professionals visiting from New Delhi in collaboration with the Fashion Institute. The agenda was to discuss the US perception of India sourcing. Steve explained to the group that the industry had a mostly negative image. Anish appreciated Steve’s forthright assessment.

Soon after the forum, Anish proposed working together with Orange You Glad to overcome this existential perception. Steve and Marsha concurred as they saw in Anish a genuine willingness to understand the market and to learn a new approach.

After working successfully together for 12 years the idea was born to pool the 17 year marketing expertise of Orange You Glad, Inc. with the 25 years of Anish India’s manufacturing proficiency to form Instant Karma.

We’ve worked hard to constantly create innovative textiles in India.

We also scoured the globe to unearth the best international mills to source fabric.

In order to reduce water consumption and waste we’ve purchased finishing equipment from cutting edge international resources such as Jeanlogia.

IK expanded the Johnny Cotton men’s brand into womenswear.

We created a new women’s Boho Chic line called “EZE SUR MER”.

Based on our brand presentations, we developed an extensive private label division focusing on catalog and internet sales.
